You Are Here And That Is Perfection / December 18, 2024

…you are here and that is perfection.

Hi, you.

I love that I pulled this card for us! A little nudge from the universe, reminding me of something I’ve been holding close to my heart these past few weeks.

I captured this photo at the start of summer a few years back near the trailhead of the Cascades in Pembroke, Virginia – a little pocket of rainforest tucked in the Appalachians. Everything felt fresh and new, with the leaves glowing a vibrant green as they were starting to fully stretch out.

I remember looking up, mesmerized by how the trees moved in harmony and how the light illuminated nature's highways through the veins of the leaves.

I felt so connected to it all. I wasn’t just watching it, but was a part of it. You know that feeling? When you are so present that everything else just fades away? For me that is perfection – feeling whole and alive. It’s not about getting everything right or being some ideal version of myself. It’s about being fully present in the moment just as I am.

I am filled with awe when I consider all of the things that had to align at just the right time and place to create these miraculous beings that we are – that, too, is perfection. You are perfection. Without you here, exactly as you are, nothing would be the same - I would not have experienced that unforgettable moment with the trees on that summer day, a memory forever etched in my heart. For that, I thank you.

I hope the season is delivering sweet moments with people that you love.

May you take time to celebrate and honor the perfection that is you.

May the new year shower you with an abundance of all the things that fill you up.
